Hello, my name is Leo Solstrom. I’m a writer, musician, photographer, and someone who happens to be a bit creative. I’m also a shameless nature lover who enjoys taking time to walk, play, think, listen, and dream in the beautiful outdoors.
If you’re here, you’ve possibly heard about my latest novel “Southern Cross” or maybe the music that goes along with my first book “Northern Lights.” Feel free to look around my site, listen to some music, and learn about what I’m up to these days.
Southern Cross
Southern Cross is the conclusion to my first novel “Northern Lights.” There are a lot of “exciting adventures” in the story, but it’s actually more about dealing with the choices and challenges in life and finding some meaning and purpose along the way.
Southern Cross is about a young man who wrestles with big changes in his life as he graduates from college, considers his future, and tries to connect with his lost love, Esther. His journey takes him far from home – to the big city of Chicago, the beaches of Southern California, and then all the way to New Zealand, where he gains a deeper understanding of true friendship, young love, and the need to let go of the past in order to discover new life. Northern Lights
Northern Lights is my debut novel, based on a summer when I was a lot younger and a student in college. If you like stories about what it’s like to live and work in the great outdoors, then you might enjoy the book. Of course, I’m a bit biased about it!
Northern Lights is about a young man named Leo, who takes a job working at a camp in Northern Minnesota. His experiences as a canoe guide in the Boundary Waters lead to a series of unexpected surprises, some personal challenges, and a few delicious awakenings. My hope is that Northern Lights will capture you in its starry web, embrace you for a time, and release you to dream of the possibilities in your own life and the lives of those you love.
