Books by Leo Solstrom
I have written two books: “Northern Lights” and “Southern Cross.” They are two parts of an ongoing story about a young man named Leo, who is loosely based on my life as a college student years ago. Take a look below for more information about the books and follow the links for details about each one.
Northern Lights
Northern Lights is my debut novel, which was published in 2021. If you like stories about exciting adventures in the great outdoors, then you might enjoy this book. Of course, I’m a bit biased about it!
Northern Lights is about a college student named Leo and his experiences in the Boundary Waters of Northern Minnesota. When he takes a job working as a canoe guide at a summer camp up north, his decision leads to a host of personal challenges, unexpected surprises, and delicious awakenings. Surrounded by the lakes, trees, and stars of the North Woods, he encounters two unlikely friends, Aria and Esther, who invade every aspect of his life. Their story of true friendship, wild adventure, and young love overflows with warm characters, earthy humor, and honest dialogue that will guide you back to the more important things in life. Northern Lights will capture you in its starry web, embrace you for a time, and then release you to dream of the endless possibilities in your own life and the lives of those you love. Southern Cross
Southern Cross is my latest novel. I’m pretty excited about it! The book is the sequel to my first novel, entitled “Northern Lights.” It’s full of exciting adventure, some deep thoughts, and yeah, a touch of romance too!
Southern Cross is about a young man named Leo, who wrestles with big changes in his life as he graduates from college, considers his future, and tries to reconnect with his lost love, Esther. His journey takes him far from home – to Chicago, Southern California, and then all the way to New Zealand where he discovers that Esther’s life has completely fallen apart. With the help of family, friends, and even a few complete strangers, the two struggle to rekindle their love and find direction in life. Leo’s journey to save Esther echoes the same one taken by Jason and the Argonauts as he follows the mystical clues hidden in the constellations and stars high above. Their incredible adventures in the beautiful island paradise lead to a deeper understanding of true friendship, young love, forgiveness, and the need to let go in order to find new life.
